Steve Burns
Technical Training Instructor

Steve is responsible for delivering C-130H and C-130J Mechanical (B1) type training. In addition to his work with our clients, Steve also supports our apprentices on their journey to become competent aircraft fitters, ensuring that they receive the highest quality training available.
With over 25 years of experience in the Royal Air Force (RAF), Steve is a true expert in his field. During his time in the RAF, he qualified as an airframe and propulsion technician, supervisor, and manager. He worked on a wide variety of aircraft, including Tornado F3, Tornado GR1, Hawk, Puma, and finally Hercules C-130K and C-130J, which he worked on as a technical manager and instructor. After RAF Lyneham closed, Steve continued his work at RAF Brize Norton, where he managed the C-130J Line Training School before joining the C-130J delivery team at Marshall in 2012.
After leaving the RAF in 2014 and joining Marshall Aerospace, Steve went on to work as a Technical Support Engineer within the Hercules Integrated Operational Support (HIOS) Technical Support Group (TSG), where he collaborated with the RAF, MoD, Lockheed Martin, and Rolls Royce to ensure the safe operation of the RAF's fleet of C-130J aircraft. In 2021 Steve made the move to Marshall Skills Academy, where he has been able to fully apply his passion for passing on his knowledge to the next generation of aircraft maintenance professionals.
Steve's expertise and dedication to his craft make him an invaluable member of our team, and we are proud to have him as a part of our organisation. We are confident that his commitment to excellence and passion for training will continue to benefit our learners for years to come.
