Marshall is a UK CAA approved Part 147 organisation (UK.147.0131) with a long history of supporting maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) organisations and aircraft fleet operators in establishing the highest levels of competency.

Our training programmes are designed to support the growth and development of engineers, crew and other staff while offering maximum value to our customers' operations. We provide a turnkey solution for a wide array of needs, from approved type training and Part 66 through to regulatory and health and safety training - all backed up by our team’s extensive maintenance and training experience across civil, military and highly modified platforms.

Our blended approach to training includes:

Instructor-led training

The most traditional method of delivering training face to face with an instructor in a classroom environment. Our classrooms are also equipped with the latest technology to support hybrid delivery if students need to dial in remotely.
Virtual classroom

Delivering training via platforms such as Microsoft Teams, this provides interactive training but without the restrictions of location or travel.
E-learning

Delivering training via an online platform, providing the added convenience for the learner of being able to attend the training anytime, anywhere.

General familiarisation

We offer high-impact general familiarisation courses for a wide range of fixed-wing platforms, equipping teams with the knowledge and skills necessary to excel in their roles.

By providing non-certifying engineers, supporting personnel and management with a comprehensive understanding of specific aircraft types, our training supports safe, effective maintenance that is critical to airworthiness activities.

Bespoke configuration and special mission training

As a team with decades of experience in the aviation industry, we recognise the significant implications of deviating from the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) specifications and intended functionalities. Our team has a proven track record in designing and delivering bespoke packages of training that cater to heavily modified platforms.

Based on our thorough understanding of the unique demands and complexities of special missions aircraft and capabilities, our specialised training programmes will provide the necessary skills and knowledge to maintain these aircraft effectively and safely.

Part 66

We are pleased to offer training towards CAA Part 66 Category A, B1 and B2 licences, which allows the holder to perform basic line maintenance tasks on aircraft such as wheel and brake changes, fluid replenishment and basic fault investigation on the live aircraft movement areas of airports.

Category A licence

The Category A licence is often the first level of certification for aircraft maintenance technicians and is a common requirement for people working for airlines or maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) organisations, serving as a foundation for further advancement.

We welcome enquiries regarding standalone Category A licence qualifications for employees outside of the UK’s apprenticeship structure.

Category B1 and B2 licences

The holder of a Category B licence can independently inspect and certify tasks performed by competent mechanics within a base maintenance environment. These licences are issued and regulated by aviation bodies such as the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).

Often viewed as an important next step in an aircraft maintenance career, a Category B licence opens doors to a wider range of opportunities within the aviation industry, and is therefore highly sought after by airlines, maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) providers, and other aviation-related organisations.

To secure a Category B1 licence (Specialist Airframe and Engine Mechanic) or B2 licence (Specialist Avionics Mechanic), candidates must undertake a rigorous training programme that encompasses both theoretical and practical components within both the Part 147 and Part 145 environments, equipping them with the knowledge and skills required for highly complex aircraft maintenance tasks.

Marshall offers a flexible training programme that covers both the Category B1 and B2 theory modules and exams essential for accumulating the required licence module credits toward a full aircraft maintenance B licence (AML).

Regulatory training

Marshall’s range of regulatory training programmes aim to ensure employees remain up-to-date with procedures, human factors and technical knowledge - while simultaneously providing organisations with 360 degree feedback on the adequacy of its procedures and maintenance instructions.

Our thorough training needs analysis (TNA) process identifies core and non-core continuation training elements and determines the most appropriate timing, ensuring that training is optimised for maximum effectiveness.

Human factors

We take pride in creating bespoke aviation human factors training that is relevant and engaging, using real-world examples that will resonate with customer teams.

All our training is designed to meet the stringent personnel requirements outlined in AMC2 145.A.30(e). We take a tailored approach to developing human factors courses specifically for the unique needs of each business.

Additionally, we offer the Human Factors module 10 (Third Country Component Certifying Staff) to further enhance organisational safety and success.

UK CAA/EASA Part 145 regulatory training

We provide essential training for those in the aviation industry who need a working knowledge of Part 145 regulations. Our expertly designed programme covers regulatory structure, responsibilities, practical application of regulations and current key industry topics.

Electrical wiring interconnection systems (EWIS)

We deliver an industry-leading EWIS course that offers the most comprehensive theoretical and practical (Module G) training available. Our course is designed to provide both initial and refresher training to delegates, giving them the essential knowledge required to carry out tasks and inspections with the utmost accuracy, care, and precaution.

Fuel tank safety

Marshall’s Fuel Tank Safety course encompasses both Phase 1 and 2 training, providing a comprehensive understanding of all aspects related to ignition prevention and critical design configuration control limitations (CDCCL) for fuel tanks in aircraft.

As with all our training programmes, we understand the importance of customising examples and practices to suit the needs of teams, ensuring maximum relevance and effectiveness.

Non-certifying to certifying engineer development

Our non-certifying to certifying engineer development training is an essential component of the developmental pathway towards becoming a fully certified engineer.

As a future certifying engineer, it is crucial to understand the regulatory, behavioural, and operational responsibilities that come with this position. Our training program equips employees with the necessary knowledge and skills to confidently take on these new responsibilities.
